After the official street release date for Sarah’s new album Never Say Goodbye on April 21st in the Benelux, a new date has been confirmed for official releases in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK and Ireland: May 11 th ! From that date onwards, you should be able to order NSG from your local retailer. Of course the album also remains available from our online shop : http://shop.sarahbettens.com
As already mentioned in last month’s newsletter, Sarah & Gert will start demoing the new k’s Choice album during the summer, but in the meanwhile Sarah will also appear solo at a couple of European and US festivals. See tour page for details.

“The Soldier Song,” one of the hit songs from “Shine”, will be featured in the wildly popular US TV show 90210, a spin-off of one of the biggest hit shows of all time Beverly Hills 90210. The new show airs on The CW, which is owned by CBS. “The Soldier Song” will be featured in episode 019, which is scheduled to air Tuesday, April 14 at 9pm (8pm CT). “The Soldier Song” will be listed on the 90210 website. You can listen to the song on the site’s “Get the Songs” section. Go to www.cwtv.com/shows/90210. In Belgium the rights of 90210 have been bought by VijfTV.

A new year... a new start? No secrets anymore... 2009 is the year Sarah and Gert will be working on the new k’s Choice album and give one of Belgium’s most succesful bands ever a second breath. The writing process will start shortly with preproduction activities planned for the second half of the year. Nevertheless, Sarah will keep promoting her new album “Never Say Goodbye” with a possible commercial release before the summer (but already available in our online shop, of course). The month of April will also see Sarah return on stage as a special guest during the Nekka Nacht in the Antwerp Sports Palace (April 25) and as a guest vocalist with Blof in Holland (dates to be confirmed). A few summer festivals are also in the pipeline, so let’s say 2009 will be a mixture of solo and pre-k’s Choice activities!

 On the verge of her European theatre tour, Sarah will release a new album which will accompany the theatre shows. “Never Say Goodbye” will be a mixture of totally new songs, a few covers which are on the setlist of the upcoming live shows and a handful of live songs from the previous theatre tour “From Scream to Whisper”.
The album will be sold exclusively at the shows in November and December in Belgium, Holland, France and Luxemburg and later on via Sarah’s online shop Jax Junk !

 For the first time in 5 years, Sarah and Gert sat in the studio together to record a new song as... k’s Choice! It’s not exactly a new song of their own hand but an acoustic version of Yellow by Coldplay, recorded for the 25th anniversary compilation album of Belgian radio station Studio Brussel. The CD is called “Rendez-vous” and is now available in all Belgian record stores.

With Sarah’s European “Shine” tour behind us, we’re looking ahead at the coming summer with a wide variety of concert settings and locations : full band, solo, duo, acoustic and electric! Here we go…
On June 28, Sarah will be special guest of Blof at the Concert at Sea Festival in Flevoland, Holland. Two weeks later, on July 11th, Sarah will be special guest at the Official Feast Day happening of the Flemish Community at the Grand Market in Brussels where she will perform solo and with Gunther Verspecht from Stash (a free concert, also broadcasted live on Belgian national TV). In the same period, in her homeland, Sarah will play the Mercury Lounge in New York on June 4th and the Atlanta Pride Festival on July 5th. End of July, Sarah travels to Texas for a show in Austin on the 25th and a gig in Dallas the next day. On August 7th, the full band will play the idyllic Rivierenhof in Antwerp, Belgium, in a complete acoustic setting… pretty unique and never done before! The next day, August 8th, Sarah and band will play their regular electric set at the Nirwana Festival in Liedrop, Holland. More dates to come… All summer dates can be found on our tour page.
In the meantime, the “Never Say Goodbye” Theatre Tour (November/December) has been completed with a series of Dutch dates, which brings the total to 23 theatre shows. A few more French dates will be added shortly.

| The US mini tour of Sarah and Gert in the States has been extended with a fifth concert in Knoxville on March 21st and also Sarah’s second leg of the European Shine tour has now been confirmed. But before hitting Europe, Sarah and band will tour South Africa during the last two weeks of April !!! And, there’s more to come as we will announce approximately 25 theatre shows for November and December very soon. See our tour page for all details. |

As the sun is starting to SHINE, new tour plans are starting to take shape. Although this message was supposed to reveal a whole bunch of new tour dates, unfortunately we can’t be very specific yet, but still, here’s an idea of what you can expect if you keep a closer look at this page in the coming weeks and months.
First of all, fully confirmed, is the Transit “Music on the road” tour together with brother Gert and the polyphonic choir “Polyfoon” starting this Friday in Mechelen (see all dates on our tour page). In March, Sarah plans a bunch of US club dates, for some of which she will be joined by Gert, which means our US friends will be able to witness the very first “limited” k’s Choice reunion in an acoustic duo setting. For the time being, Salt Lake City, Johnson City and Atlanta have been confirmed… more dates will follow. Later, in the spring, the plan is to schedule a South African tour for which dates should be available soon. After that, the caravan should move on to Europe for part 2 of the European SHINE tour (still to be confirmed). The next obvious step brings us to the summer festivals, some of which are very close to be confirmed. After the summer, rehearsals will start to prepare a brand new Theatre Tour (following the successful and sold out 2006 From Scream to Whisper Tour). Sarah’s musical partner will be Tom Kestens again, but of course the 2006 formula will be entirely reviewed and revamped. This tour should start end of October /early November and will last till X-mas with 17 concerts in Belgium and a bunch of theatre shows in neighboring countries such as Holland and France… |

Right after the November/December tour Sarah will do 2 extra shows in Holland as she will perform at Eurosonic in Groningen on January 11 and in Heerlen, Limburgzaal, on January 12. Sarah will also perform at the 2008 edition of Vrienden van Amstel in Ahoy' (Rotterdam) on January 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31 and February 1, 2 and 3.

 For the very first time since the split of k's Choice, Sarah and Gert will share the same stage during Sarah's upcoming European tour !!! As a matter of fact, Woodface, Gert's band, wil open for Sarah in Luxemburg on November 28th! Sarah and Gert already confirmed this will be a special night for both of them !! Be sure not to miss it...
Also confirmed are a couple of new official release dates : Germany, Austria, Switzerland : November 23 - Israel : November 13 - USA : November 2. |

For the very first time in Belgian media history, a brand-new CD will be distributed for free with a national newspaper… What Prince did in England a few months ago, will be repeated in Belgium by De Morgen as they will add Sarah's new CD "Shine" to their national edition of October 13th! The release will be coupled with an exclusive (private) showcase on October 10th for which tickets can only be won through competitions in De Morgen and via Studio Brussels.

Last minute important news : The official Belgian release of Sarah’s new album “Shine”, planned for September 28th, will be pushed back to November 2nd. The reason for this delay has all to do with an amazing marketing opportunity which you will hear about very soon. You won’t be disappointed, believe us, the only thing we ask you is to have a little bit of patience... you’ll hear all about it in a couple of days! In France, the release is planned on October 9th. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland the release date is October 19th. The Dutch release is, just like Belgium, planned for November 2nd. |
